Spring is in the air.....the snow is almost gone.....you can actually see the grass again! As we move towards April, the Hat Boys, like the rest of our fellow midwestern smokers, wait patiently for warmer weather. The thought of moving outdoors again for cigars, drink and fellowship is foremost in our minds.
Fresh air, golf, fishing, our favorite smokes and no need for air
filtration systems. Yes, the winter is actually coming to an end. No one you talk to can remember a winter so long and so filled with snow. The only break in this bleek winter was the annual vacation trip to the Caribbean.....(it seemed to go by in an instant). Smoking your favorite cigar over the winter months presents many challenges as states continue to limit, or eliminate any public smoking options. Only a few cigar lounges still function in Iowa, and those are primarily in Des Moines. Illinois fars no better. The Iowa crew has actually regressed to smoking in the old Ford F150. Hat Boy figured it out several years ago and built a cigar parlor in his garage. I intend to construct something similar over the summer. Maybe a converted out building, or even an attachment to the house is a possibility. We won't give up, and hopefully our fellow smokers will find ways and means to enjoy their love of the leaf when those cold winter months come at us again. As always, the Hat Boys hope to see you along the way.
